Entry Requirements
- Learners will need a laptop to access the AI platforms on a larger screen and participate effectively in the hands-on activities.
- No software installation is required. All tools used during the course are accessible through a web browser. Learners should have a stable internet connection and an email to register for or log in to the platforms.
- No prior AI, coding or technical experience is required. This course is suitable for complete beginners who want to use AI confidently for work, content creation and everyday productivity.

How do I secure my seat in the Generative AI Course?
To reserve your place, pay the S$10.90 registration fee (incl. GST) when you sign up. This holds your seat while our student services team contacts you within 24 hours to guide you through funding applications and payment arrangements. In many cases, eligible learners pay little to nothing out of pocket after subsidies.
Is the S$10.90 registration fee refundable?
No. The S$10.90 registration fee is strictly non-refundable under all circumstances.
How do I pay the remaining course fees?
After registering, our student services team will contact you within 24 hours to guide you through:
- Government funding (e.g. SkillsFuture, UTAP, PSEA)
- Payment options (if any balance is payable)
In many cases, learners pay little or no cash after subsidies.
What funding options are available for Generative AI course?
The Generative AI Course is eligible for SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) subsidies of up to 70%,
depending on your age and residency status. Eligible Singapore Citizens aged 25 and above can use
their $500 SkillsFuture Credit to offset remaining course fees. NTUC members may also utilise UTAP funding, which provides 50% subsidy of up to $500 per calendar year, subject to prevailing
eligibility requirements. In addition, Singapore Citizens aged 21 to 31 may also use their available
Post-Secondary Education Account (PSEA) balance to further reduce out-of-pocket costs.

An administrative fee of $15 applies to all approved withdrawals.
What happens if I don’t show up for the course?
If you do not attend without prior notice:
- No refund will be given
You will be liable for the full course fee (including any funding clawback)
What if I miss a lesson?
You may:
- Attend a makeup class (subject to availability), or
- Watch the recorded session
However, attendance is only counted if you attend the makeup session.
Can I reschedule my course intake?
Yes, subject to the following:
- Must be requested at least 14 days before course start
- Maximum of 3 reschedules allowed
Fees:
- 1st reschedule: Free
- 2nd & 3rd reschedule: 5% of full course fee each (non-waivable)
- $15 administrative fee applies
No rescheduling is allowed after the course has started.
Can I use SkillsFuture Credit and UTAP at the same time?
Yes. For the online Generative AI course, you can combine SkillsFuture Credit and UTAP to further reduce your out-of-pocket costs. UTAP must be applied after SkillsFuture Credit has been applied. UTAP claims are submitted after course completion via the NTUC portal.
Am I eligible for SSG funding support?
To qualify for SSG funding, you must be at least 21 years old, a Singapore Citizen or PR, achieve at least 75% attendance (minimum 6 out of 7 lessons), and pass the final assessment. Visit the SkillsFuture Singapore website for the full eligibility criteria.
What are the attendance and completion requirements?
To meet SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) requirements and qualify for government funding, you must attend at least 75% of lessons (minimum 6 out of 7 classes), complete all required assessments and receive a “Competent” grade, submit any required capstone project work, and complete course feedback surveys. Failure to meet these requirements means you will not receive your certificate, may lose funding eligibility, and may be required to pay the full unsubsidised course fee.
Does Vertical Institute guarantee funding approval for this course?
No. Funding approval is subject to the relevant authorities and your eligibility.
Vertical Institute is not responsible for:
- Funding rejection
- Delays
- Clawbacks
What happens after I complete the course?
Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive a WSQ
Statement of Attainment (SOA) and a Certificate of Completion from
Vertical Institute, both of which can be used to demonstrate your
skills and are recognised by employers in Singapore.
You will also gain lifetime access to the course materials.
Are there subsidies available for company-sponsored individuals?
Enhanced Training Support for SMEs
SMEs that meet all of the following eligibility criteria:
- Registered or incorporated in Singapore
- Employment size of not more than 200 or with annual sales turnover of not more than $100 million
SME-sponsored Trainees:
- Must be Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents.
- Courses have to be fully paid for by the employer.
- Trainee is not a full-time national serviceman.
