What are SkillsFuture Credits? 

SkillsFuture Credits are a government initiative in Singapore. They encourage lifelong learning among residents. Started in 2015, every Singaporean aged 25 and above received an opening credit of S$500. Additionally, to encourage Singaporeans to take action in up-skilling, a one-off SkillsFuture Credit top-up of $500 was provided to the same age group as at 31 December 2020. An additional one-off SkillsFuture Credits of $500 was given to every Singaporean citizen between the ages of 40 and 60 for Mid-Career Support.
This credit is for paying for various approved courses to enhance skills and career prospects. The additional credits expire after 31 December 2025, while the opening credits do not expire. You can use these credits to easily and affordably gain new knowledge and skills. This will help you to position yourself for success in the evolving job market. How to use my SkillsFuture Credits

1. Go to the MySkillsFuture website

2. Log into your account securely using SingPass

3. Under “View Courses”, there are many areas of training available. You can take your pick on which course interests you.

4. Once you have chosen the course of interest, they will provide you with the link to the training provider’s website.

5. Apply on their website directly.

Benefits of Using Your SkillsFuture Credit

1. Affordable learning – By using your credits to pay or offset the balance, it makes the courses more affordable and accessible. If you don’t make good use of the credits, most of the credits would just expire after 31 December 2025.

Are there other subsidies?

Eligible Singaporeans & PRs can obtain up to 70% funding support for our IBF-accredited courses, and Singaporeans aged 25 and above may use their SkillsFuture credits to offset the remaining balance. Alternatively, NTUC Union members can also use their UTAP Funding to offset 50% of the unfunded course fees, capped at $250/year.
