Meet Amanda, alumni of our UX Design course..

My name is Amanda, I attended Vertical Institute’s UX Design course on October 2022 and I’m currently working as an executive assistant at a local arts school. Attending the course has played a major role in my job hunt as I was able to impress the employer with my newly equipped UX design skills and knowledge.

What makes you decide to join our UX Design course?

I took up a specialist diploma in Applied Psychology and thought that it would be great to learn UX design during my term break for the upcoming modules. So, during that time, I also came across this article on Mothership that talks about high demand for UX design professionals with Vertical Institute. So, it was like hitting 2 birds with 1 stone, so I thought why not check out their courses?

How would you describe your learning experience at Vertical Institute?

So I had a great time attending the course, the best part I felt was how comprehensive the course material were that even beginners like me could pick up the concepts easily. I still remember how the trainer and the teaching assistant were super helpful and patient, guiding us through the functions of the various software tools and that’s something that I really, really appreciate.

How has attending the UX Design Course helped you in your career?

So the skills and the knowledge that I gained from the course like conducting user research and designing wireframes using Figma, actually it helps me in my Applied Psychology diploma project. And, I also built my own Capstone project where I not only apply my skills but also built my own portfolio that I can showcase to the employers.

Who would you recommend this UX Design Course to?

I would highly recommend the course to anyone that are looking to upskill and kickstart a career in UX design. The curriculum is beginner-friendly, the teaching assistants and trainer are incredibly supportive, they go beyond to ensure the students can keep up with the lessons and it was a fantastic experience for me.
