Course Curriculum

What You’ll Learn in This Course

Module 1·Cloud AI: Setup

Covers connecting n8n Cloud to Claude AI through an approved shared API key, running your first cloud workflow, and comparing Claude model tiers for the task at hand.

Learning Outcome

Explain and configure the cloud AI stack, then run a simple n8n Cloud workflow that calls Claude AI through an approved credential.

Module 2·Cloud AI: Going Deeper

Covers model benchmarks, temperature and context-length trade-offs, system prompts, vision and tool use, and comparing Claude model tiers (Haiku, Sonnet, Opus) for cost, speed and reliability.

Learning Outcome

Select and justify an appropriate Claude model tier and configuration for a given workflow task. (K2, K6, A5)

Module 3·Integrations: MCP and Workflow Automation

Covers tool-use and function-calling concepts, MCP (resources, prompts and tools), grounding Claude in approved documents via RAG, and building a multi-step n8n Cloud workflow with classification and routing.

Learning Outcome

Design and build an integrated, grounded AI workflow using MCP and RAG-based context augmentation. (K1, K2, K7, A3, A4)

Module 4·Advanced Workflows and Workflow Agents

Covers the four workflow patterns (Prompt Chaining, Routing, Parallelisation, Evaluator/Optimiser), structured prompt design, and building a workflow agent using n8n's AI Agent node.

Learning Outcome

Design a predictable, auditable workflow agent using an appropriate workflow pattern and guardrails. (K3, K4, A1, A3)

Module 5·Autonomous Agents: Letting the LLM Drive

Covers the autonomy spectrum, comparing workflow and autonomous agent platforms, analysing real agent failure cases, and applying safety, governance and human-approval controls — the course capstone.

Learning Outcome

Select and justify a workflow agent, autonomous agent, or hybrid approach for a business scenario, applying appropriate safety and governance controls. (K5, A1, A2, A4, A5)

Module 6·Working with the OpenAI API

Covers OpenAI API fundamentals, endpoints and tokens, temperature tuning, secure key management, and comparing AI-as-a-Service providers.

Learning Outcome

Explain API fundamentals, endpoints, requests and responses, and evaluate the performance of LLMs using appropriate metrics.

Assessment·Written Assessment & Practical Assessment
