Google Gemini is among the 21 AI tools approved for UTAP subscription support under the AI-Ready SG initiative. For professionals who rely on Google Workspace tools like Gmail, Docs, Sheets, and Meet, having Gemini integrated into that ecosystem makes it a practical AI tool for everyday work. It’s now part of the subscription cost, which can be offset through UTAP.

To access this benefit, members need to complete a UTAP-approved AI course first. Vertical Institute’s Generative AI (Level 1) is one of the qualifying courses, and finishing it opens two claims within a shared annual cap:

UTAP support on your course fee – Government subsidies come off the course fee first. NTUC members then file a UTAP claim for 50% support on the remaining amount. The cap is $500 for members aged 40 and above and $250 for those under 40.

UTAP support on your Google Gemini subscription – Within one year of completing the course, members can subscribe to Google Gemini and file a separate UTAP claim for 50% support on subscription costs. The start date must fall between 1 May 2026 and 30 April 2028, and the claim must be submitted within 6 months of that date.

GitHub Copilot must remain on NTUC’s approved tool list at the time of subscription. The subscription is strictly for the member’s personal use and must be declared as such when submitting the claim. Claims outside the 6-month window will not be processed.

What if I miss the 6-month claim deadline?

UTAP claims submitted more than 6 months after your subscription start date will be rejected without exception. No extensions are granted. Note both your course completion date and subscription start date, and file your claim well within the window.

What certification will I receive upon completing the course?

Participants who meet the 75% attendance requirement and pass all assessments receive a WSQ Statement of Attainment from SkillsFuture Singapore and a digital certificate from Vertical Institute, both recognised by employers across Singapore.

How do I secure my place, and what is the refund policy?

Register on the Vertical Institute website by paying a S$10.90 registration fee, inclusive of GST, which is non-refundable. Course fee refunds follow a tiered schedule based on when you withdraw: more than 14 days before the start date qualifies for a full refund, 7 to 14 days before receives 50%, and no refund applies within 7 days of the start or after the course has begun.
