Vertical Institute’s Generative AI Course helps seniors build practical AI skills through 21.5 hours of hands-on training, comprising 7 lessons and 1 assessment. With a choice of online or in-person classes, you can learn at your own pace through flexible weekday or weekend schedules.

Throughout the course, you’ll learn how to:

Eligible senior learners can receive 70% SSG funding, with SkillsFuture Credit available to offset the remaining course fees. Senior NTUC members may also claim UTAP funding for 50% of the unfunded course fee, capped at S$500 per year. Upon completing the course, eligible NTUC members can also enjoy 50% support for selected AI tools, including ChatGPT and Claude, subject to UTAP terms, conditions and annual funding limits.

The course includes 21.5 hours of training across 7 lessons and 1 assessment. Learners can choose live online classes via Zoom or in-person classes at Lifelong Learning Institute, with weekday and weekend schedules available.

Is the course suitable for seniors who are not confident using computers?

Yes. Learners should be comfortable with basic tasks such as typing, using a web browser and accessing online platforms. An instructor and teaching assistant are available during class to support practical activities and answer questions.

Are there any age limits for joining the course?

There is no upper age limit. The course is open to adult learners of all ages, including seniors in their 60s, 70s and beyond who want to build practical AI skills for everyday life, work, volunteering or personal interests.

Learners gain experience with tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot and Claude. The course also introduces AI content creation, automation, OpenAI tools and responsible AI practices.

What funding options are available for this course?

Eligible Singapore Citizens can receive u[ to a 70% SSG subsidy. SkillsFuture Credit may be used to offset the remaining course fees. NTUC members may also claim UTAP support for 50% of the unfunded course fee, capped at up to S$500 per year. Eligible Singaporeans aged 21 to 31 may use PSEA, although this PSEA funding option will not apply to senior learners.

Can NTUC members receive support for AI tool subscriptions?

Yes. NTUC members who complete eligible courses, such as this course or Vertical Institute Data Science and AI course, may receive 50% support for selected AI tools, including ChatGPT and Claude. This support is subject to UTAP terms, conditions and the applicable annual funding cap.

Will I receive a certificate after completing the course?

Yes. Learners who meet the attendance, assessment and completion requirements will receive a Vertical Institute Certificate of completion and a WSQ Statement of Attainment.

What happens if I need to withdraw, reschedule or miss the course?

If your plans change, please contact Vertical Institute as early as possible.

Rescheduling: You may reschedule your course intake if you submit your request at least 14 days before the course starts. The first reschedule is free. Up to three reschedules are allowed, with the second and third each incurring a fee of 5% of the full course fee, plus a S$15 administrative fee. Rescheduling is not permitted after the course has started.

Withdrawals: If you withdraw more than 14 days before the course starts, you will receive a full refund, excluding the S$10.90 registration fee. Withdrawals made 7 to 14 days before the course receive a 50% refund, excluding the registration fee. No refunds are available for withdrawals made less than 7 days before the course starts or after the course has begun. A S$15 administrative fee applies to all approved withdrawals.

Non-attendance: Learners who do not attend the course without prior notice will not receive a refund and may be liable for the full course fee, including any applicable funding clawback.
